Nothing will be heavier on the Day of Resurrection in the scale of a believer than good manners.
Allah hates one who utters foul or coarse language.

This Life of Deception

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman, who is not satisfied with one husband. So! be satisfied with whatever Allah grants you from this worldy life.

Walking thereon is like walking in a land that is filled with beasts, and water that teams with crocodiles. That which causes delight, turns to be the source of grief. Pain is found in the midst of pleasures, and delights are derived from its sorrows. As a bird sees the wheat, so does one’s insight perceive polytheism, while vain desires render its holder blind. Lusts were granted in abundance to humans, but those who believed in the unseen turned away from them! while those who follow their lusts were caused to regret.

The first category, are those, in which Allah says, which means,

“They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.” (Al-Baqarah, 2:5)

However, the other category, are those to whom Allah says which means,

“(0 you disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while. Verily, you are the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.).” (AI-Mursalat, 77:46)

When the successful ones are aware of the reality of this worldly life being sure of the inferiority of its degree, they overcome their vain desires for the sake of the Hereafter. They have been awakened from their heedlessness to remember what their enemies took from them during their period of idleness. Whenever they perceive the distant journey they must undertake, they remember their aim, so it appears easy for them. Whenever life becomes bitter, they remember this verse, in which Allah says, which means,

“This is your Day which you were promised.” (AI Anbiya’, 21:103)

Narrated Abu Huraira (radhiAllaahu ‘anhu):

I heard Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) saying, “If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.” The Prophet (ﷺ) added, “That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds.”

People are three types

UbaydAllaah Ibn Shaamit said:
My father used to say, ‘People are of three types:

(1) a man who started doing good deeds from a very young age and persisted on that until he left this life, this is a Muqarrab (one of those brought near to Allaah).

(2) And a man who started his life with sins and long heedlessness, but then he repented, then he is Saahib Al-Yameen (companions of the right hand).

(3) And finally a man who started doing evil deeds in a very early age and persisted on them until he left this life and this is Saahib Ash-Shimaal (companions of the left hand).’

[Hilyaat Al-Awliyaa’, 3/131]

Frequent remembrance

Every time you feel disheartened by your being alone on this path, then look to those who came before you and strive to catch up with them, and turn away from everyone else, as they will not benefit you in the least with Allah. If you happen to see them somewhere along the path that you are upon, then do not turn to look at them, for if you do so, they will distract you and simply delay your progress.”
